Meet the Doctors

John Y. Kwan, D.D.S. 

Dr. Kwan graduated from USC in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science and later received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from USC in 1981. John served in the US Air Force for 10 years as a general dentist and periodontist.  

Dr. Kwan has been published in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Periodontology, the Journal of the American Dental Association, and the Journal of the California Dental Association among other national and international journals, and textbooks.

His periodontal practice includes clinical research, education and serving as an advisor to dental product and technology companies. John is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is a Clinical Professor at UCSF. 

Dr. Kwan maintains a private practice in the Oakland/Berkeley area of California.  His treatment focus is on minimally invasive care for periodontal and implant patients, emphasizing periodontal endoscopy and microsurgery.

Evan R. Santiago, DDS, MSD

Dr. Santiago is a Bay Area native, raised in San Jose he graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 2005. After several years of working in business, Evan decided to pursue a more rewarding career in dentistry.  Dr. Santiago returned to the Bay Area and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from UC San Francisco in 2014. 

Dr. Santiago continued his education in New Orleans where he obtained his Masters of Science in Dentistry and certificate in Periodontics from Louisiana State University. At LSU he completed training in all aspects of dental surgery including dental implants, peri-implantitis, bone regeneration, sinus elevation, esthetic soft tissue grafting, laser therapy, microsurgery, and IV/oral sedation.

In his free time, Evan enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and cheering for his favorite sports teams.
